Finals of Junior Davis Cup And Junior Fed Cup

The USA teams started out its quest for the 2016 Junior Davis & Fed cup titles in Budapest, Hungary.  The USA boys are seeded 4th behind Canada, Russia and China.  Canada won this event last year and have the US Open Jr Boys Champion Felix Auger-Aliassime competing on their team.


The USA boys had a tough match in their opening round contest versus Switzerland.  Keenan Mayo (USA) won his opening match 6-3, 6-7(0), 6-4 to put the USA up 1-0.  Sebastian Korda (USA) followed Keenan and suffered a tough three set loss by the score of 4-6, 6-0, 7-5.  This leveled the match at 1-1.  With the match tied Sebastian Korda/Sangeet Sridhar (USA) came out strong and claimed the doubles point with a 6-2, 7-6(2) victory.  The USA boys will play Brazil in their next match.

The USA Girls are seeded #2 in the Junior Federation Cup.  They are seeded behind Russia.   The USA girls looked extremely dominate in their opening match against New Zealand.  Claire Liu (USA) won her opening match 6-1, 6-0.  Amanda Anisimova (USA) looked equally impressive as she claimed a 6-1, 6-0 victory.  Claire Liu/Caty McNally (USA) then teamed up and won the doubles 6-0, 6-1.  The USA girls will next face Peru.  Congratulations to all the players.  Good Luck and Go Team USA!

Amanda Anisimova (USA) defeated Tamara Anderson (NZL) 6-1, 6-0
Claire Liu (USA)/Caty McNally (USA) defeated Emilia Price (NZL)/Nina Paripovich(NZL) 6-0, 6-1
